Episode 4: Ready for Takeoff – Final Testing & First Flight

Thursday August 28, 2025 17:30 Europe/Copenhagen

In this final session of the series, we’ll go beneath the surface to understand the technology powering your drone—and how to take care of it for long-term performance. If you’ve ever wondered what’s really happening inside your drone or how to extend its life, this is the session for you.

We’ll start with a breakdown of your drone’s critical systems: propulsion, GPS, IMUs (Inertial Measurement Units), barometers, vision positioning systems, and obstacle avoidance sensors. You’ll learn how these parts work together in real-time to keep your drone stable, responsive, and safe.

From there, we’ll shift focus to battery management—one of the most overlooked areas by casual users. You’ll learn how to read battery health stats, avoid over-discharge or swelling, and implement proper charging and storage habits. We’ll also discuss what to do if your drone won’t charge, loses connection, or exhibits strange behavior.

Finally, we’ll walk through routine maintenance steps that every pilot should know: cleaning sensors, updating firmware, calibrating compass and IMU, checking for motor wear, and keeping your gear transport-ready. With the right habits and understanding, your drone will not only last longer but also perform at its peak.

This session is ideal for those who want to become truly confident and self-reliant drone operators—prepared for both big flights and small fixes.
